(Resident Brand Representative – Women’s Footwear)
About the Position
Modzori, an established U.S. women’s footwear brand with over 15 years of manufacturing, is seeking an experienced China Technical Development & Production Representative to become our long-term representative in China.
This unique position combines product development, technical engineering, sourcing, supplier management, production coordination, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will work directly with our U.S. management team and represent Modzori throughout the entire product development and manufacturing process.
This is a long-term career opportunity for an experienced footwear professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving technical challenges, and working directly with an established international footwear brand.
Key Responsibilities
• Support seasonal product development from concept through final production.
• Source, evaluate, and develop relationships with outsole, mold, material, hardware, and component suppliers.
• Review samples, construction, materials, manufacturing methods, and production feasibility, recommending technical improvements and practical solutions.
• Attend development meetings, Sale-sampling, pre-production meetings, and production meetings with factories, suppliers, and the U.S. management team (via Zoom when required).
• Monitor production, verify materials, workmanship, production processes, production schedules, packing, and finished goods.
• Identify, communicate, and resolve technical and quality issues before they affect production or shipment.
• Ensure factories follow approved specifications and do not implement material, construction, or process changes without prior approval.
• Prepare regular reports with photos, videos, and recommendations, and maintain continuous communication with the U.S. management team through Zoom, WeChat, email, and messaging.
• Build strong professional relationships with factories and suppliers while consistently representing Modzori’s interests, quality standards, and long-term objectives.
Qualifications
• 5–10+ years of experience in women’s footwear development, technical engineering, production, technical transfer, or quality management.
• Strong knowledge of women’s footwear construction, outsole development, molds, materials, manufacturing processes, machinery, and production techniques.
• Experience working with export factories serving U.S. and/or European brands.
• Good English communication skills, sufficient for regular Zoom meetings, emails, technical discussions, and written reports with our U.S. team.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Practical, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to identify problems, recommend improvements, and follow through until issues are fully resolved.
• Ability to make objective technical decisions and professionally represent Modzori’s interests when working with factories and suppliers.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, able to work independently, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Huidong / Huangbu (Huizhou, Guangdong) area, with regular on-site support at our manufacturing partner’s factory and local suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience sourcing footwear materials, molds, outsoles, hardware, and production suppliers.
• Experience working directly with overseas footwear brands or international customers.
• Ability to evaluate women’s footwear samples for fit and comfort (approximately EU 39 / US Women’s Size 8 preferred, male or female).
