- Job Overview:
The Handbags Samples Development Coordinator is responsible for managing the sample development process for handbags. They serve as the main contact between design teams, production, merchandising, and quality departments. The goal is to ensure that all prototypes and samples are created correctly, delivered on time, and meet design and quality standards. This role helps with product launches, fashion shows, customer presentations, and bulk production by overseeing the sample development workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Management:
• Coordinate the sample development process from initial concepts to final production, covering all types of samples (prototypes, fit, photo, and pre-production).
• Create, update, and maintain detailed timelines and schedules for sample development to ensure on-time delivery.
• Track progress through each stage of sample creation, including pattern making, material sourcing, cutting, sewing, and assembly.
Communication:
• Serve as the primary liaison between design teams, factories, and internal departments (merchandising, quality control) to facilitate clear communication and information flow.
• Translate technical language and design specifications into clear instructions for factory teams to ensure accurate sample creation.
• Proactively follow up with factories and in-house teams to address any potential issues or delays.
Material Coordination:
• Identify, source, and verify raw materials required for sample making, including leathers, fabrics, hardware, and other necessary components.
• Ensure all materials meet quality standards and correspond to the design specifications, including color, texture, and finish.
• Monitor material usage and inventory levels, collaborating with the purchasing team to address shortages or quality issues promptly.
Documentation:
• Establish and maintain an organized file system for all sample development documents, including sample lists, development records, and revision logs.
• Regularly update sample progress reports and maintain digital and physical archives of finished samples for future reference.
• Capture and sort standard photos of completed samples for documentation purposes.
• Support Seasonal Launches:
• Assist with the planning and preparation for seasonal product launches, fashion shows, and customer presentations by ensuring all necessary samples are developed and ready for use.
• Work closely with marketing and sales teams to align sample requirements with promotional strategies and customer expectations.
• This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the quality and timely delivery of handbag samples, contributing to the overall success of product launches and brand representation.

• Strong Coordination & Execution: Able to manage multiple sample projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks reasonably, and ensure on-time delivery of all samples
• Detail-Oriented & Rigorous: Sensitive to product details, strict with sample quality, able to accurately spot subtle defects and non-compliant details
• Cross-Team Communication: Good at communicating with designers, factories, and functional teams, able to accurately transmit requirements and resolve conflicts efficiently
• Pressure Resistance: Able to work efficiently under tight seasonal project schedules and peak sample development periods
• Logical & Organized: Clear work logic, good at sorting and archiving documents and samples, with strong project tracking ability
• Learning Agility: Keen insight into fashion trends, able to quickly learn new craftsmanship and material knowledge
