- Key Responsibilities
1. Design Collaboration and Innovation:
- Work closely with design teams to develop new handbag concepts and styles.
- Stay updated on fashion trends to incorporate innovative ideas into designs.
2. Product Development:
- Oversee the entire product development process from conception to production.
- Evaluate prototypes and suggest improvements for design, functionality, and materials.
3. Material and Supplier Management:
- Select suitable materials and coordinate with suppliers.
- Ensure materials meet quality standards and are cost-effective.
4. Quality Control:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure products adhere to brand standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of samples and final products.
5. Project Management:
- Plan and manage timelines to ensure that products are developed and launched on schedule.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, Technical, factories and quality control for successful product launches.
6. Cost Management:
- Work with finance teams to set cost targets and manage budgets.
- Optimize production efficiency to maintain cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
7. Training and Leadership:
- Guide and mentor junior developers
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Leather Engineering, or a related field.
2. Must have 8 years or more in leather goods experience and understand handbags design and constructions.
3. Fluent in spoken and written English is essential for effective daily communication with the US Head Office team, factories.
4. Strong Sense of Responsibility & Ownership:
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a commitment to seeing tasks through to successful completion. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
6. Willingness to travel frequently to southeast Asia
