- Position Summary:
This role ensures Caleres products meet internal standards, meet customer expectations, and global regulatory requirements (e.g., RSL) from development through production. As a technical expert, this individual is responsible for coordinating testing processes with third-party labs, analyzing data, and maintaining robust documentation. An additional key responsibility includes providing dedicated follow-up support for designated customer accounts, tracking testing and inspection activities to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
Core Competencies and Qualifications to this Position:
Education & Technical Foundation
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Material Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of chemical testing, product compliance, and regulatory standards (especially RSL and GB Standards).
Industry Experience
- 5+ years in footwear, apparel, or consumer goods industry, ideally in:
o Lab testing coordination
o Quality assurance
o Compliance or regulatory affairs
o Customer-facing technical roles
- Experience working with third-party labs (HQTS, BV, SGS, ITS) and managing testing workflows.
Functional Skills
- Protocol Management: Able to interpret and update testing protocols based on global and local standards.
- Data Analysis: Comfortable analyzing lab data to support decision-making and strategy.
- Follow-up & Coordination: Excellent skills in tracking multiple tasks and deadlines
- System Knowledge: Familiar with PLM, LMIS, ecVision, and ideally SAP.
Communication & Collaboration
- Strong English writing and reading skills; fluent spoken English preferred.
- Able to communicate with international customers and internal cross-functional teams.
