Distribution Manager – ALDO Group International

The ALDO Group supply chain is complex and is in transition. The company is implementing SAP across all their channels and banners (brands). During this transition and while the various banners adopt SAP, there are parallel activities within legacy systems for those brands which are not yet live with SAP. The Supply Chain has several logistics partners including Distribution Centers, Transportation Providers and Custom Brokers. ALDO is integrated with the partner systems. This integration has its own complexity.
The ALDO supply chain services global markets. The predominant markets are in Canada and the USA. The international markets are spread across Latin Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa. The company has evolved from being Montreal Centric to being multi-national with a global presence.
The Distribution Manager (AGI) will serve the needs of the International markets. The goal is to strengthen and streamline the flow of goods and ensure adherence to service level agreements, lead times and operating procedures.
•Reports to the Senior Manager of AGI Distribution based in the Netherlands.
•The role will be based within the Logistics Partner facilities in Yantian.
•The Distribution Manager (AGI) will work closely and partner with the Director of AGI Transportation/Customs as well as with the Director of AGI Distribution.
•The role will support the management of the AGI Distribution Operations by managing tasks related to Third Party Distribution Partners.
•On a daily basis, the role will interact and liaise with the Netherlands and Yantian Distribution Centers and the Transportation team for the fulfillment for our book of business to our wholesale, retail and franchisee customers. The role will support the creation of Exception ASN’s, compile data for order book analysis, performance reporting and correction of data errors or adjustments required to execute the process in the DC Warehouse Management systems. The role will also ensure AGI business rules and prioritization are followed with proactive disciplines and efforts.
•The role requires the ability to engage hands-on to execute on Distribution capabilities.
•Experience and past performance related to the following Distribution Center (DC) capabilities is essential;
.Capture data input and report on the performance of the DC’s based on Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
.Trouble shoot inventory flow issues in meeting the customer promise for the channel needs.
.Supporting and compiling data inputs which will be used for financial budget controls in relation to fixed and variable costs of third party logistics partners.
.Strong analytical capabilities to capture anomalies and errors in inbound, processing and outbound operations.
.Data capture and on-the-floor implementation of inventory productivity protocols related to ageing, obsolescence/liquidation, sku productivity etc.
.Management and supervision of junior level 3PL distribution staff to ensure quality and timeliness of work output.
.Managing and controlling the variable cost related to the cost plus model at the Yantian DC.
.Ensuring compliance with regulatory and Free Trade Zone requirements.
.Financial and chargeback management, space optimization at the DC and delivering on the customer promise.
Requirements for the Role:
•Atleast 5+ years of hands on Distribution Center expertise and experience.
•Experience with atleast 80% of the Distribution capabilities.
•Ability to lead a team of mid to junior logistic partner resources.
•Experience working with International 3PL Distribution Centers.
•Footwear, Handbag and Accessory industry experience is preferred.
•Strong financial planning and simulation capabilities.
•Data driven with strong analytical skills.
•Good English and local language communications skills to collaborate and manage cross functional needs.
•Good people engagement skills – Results driven approach.
•Highly solution oriented leadership style – high sense of urgency and bias for action.
•Strong team player with alignment to our core values: Love, Respect and Integrity.
•Self driven with the goal of making a difference and to deliver on corporate goals.
•Supply chain practitioner with exposure in Retail, Wholesale, Franchisee and International logistics.
•Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to enable sales and channel growth.
•Technology savvy to support operational effectiveness; experience with Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Visio and TMS tools.
Work Location and Travel:
•90% based in the Yantian, 10% in Dongguan.
